Performer, speaker, and author Rob Zabrecky is a singular force in entertainment—there’s simply no one else like him. Through a dynamic career spanning acting, magic, writing, speaking, and music, Zabrecky has earned international acclaim as a entirely original artist.
Zabrecky’s magic is designed those who don’t realize they love magic. His blackly comedic and bizarre magic persona transcend the medium into something between performance art and transformative comedy.
For over two decades, Zabrecky has headlined theaters, magic festivals, and magic conventions from Tokyo to New York City, and has been honored with six awards from the Academy of Magical Arts at Hollywood’s famed Magic Castle. His one-man comedy magic and variety show, The Zabrecky Hour, has been performed worldwide to critical acclaim.
On screen, he’s recognized for acting roles in A Ghost Story, Lost River, and Decay. His television work includes appearances in Fallout, Criminal Minds, GLOW, the CBS biopic series Strange Angel as well as several award-winning short films and television commercials.
As an author, Zabrecky penned the memoir Strange Cures (Rothco Press), a vivid story of self-discovery, reinvention, and survival set against the backdrop of Los Angeles in the 1970s through ’90s. The Los Angeles Times called it “a punk poem to a forgotten Los Angeles,” while Jane Wiedlin of the Go-Go’s described it as “a 1980s San Fernando Valley Time Machine.”
Beyond his enigmatic stage presence, Zabrecky is a two-time Lecturer of the Year honoree from the Academy of Magical Arts at the Magic Castle, acclaimed for his charismatic explorations of magic as a form of theatrical art.
